I use two different methods that share the exact same goal, which is to break away from ordinary reality and create a distinctive, surreal narrative by always searching for the slightly detached. Sometimes it happens through humor, sometimes only through specific light situations, and sometimes through an odd environment, architecture, or people.The first approach is finding. I search the streets for situations where the real world already looks uncommonly organized, exaggerated, or bizarre on its own. Using only my perspective, the specific angle of the sun, and precise framing, I peel away the surrounding chaos to isolate that surreal moment.The second approach is staging. I completely construct visual worlds from scratch. I bring in custom characters, absurd props, and vibrant color palettes, orchestrating everything in front of the lens until the physical scene balances absolute graphic precision with the surreal.There is always a cinematic undertone to my work, which is a core part of my visual goal and not just a collateral effect, allowing locations and lighting setups to initiate visual stories that the viewers must finish in their own minds. Whether I discover a moment or build a scene from scratch, the scene is captured entirely through physical means: the nature of the subject, the choice of perspective, the exact color situation, and the unaltered exposure. While post-production involves color correction for the final look and beauty retouching, there is no addition of digital elements, no compositing, and no collaging.The process only ends for me when the image is transferred into a tangible form. While photography mostly happens on screens today, the physical print is a conscious choice. To me, a picture is more than its subject matter, it is the flat version of a sculpture.
